#17 Consider moving to China

This happens every year.
Winter Break rolls in and with it comes my to do list.
The list of shit that I have been putting off for weeks, saying, "I'll get to that over break."
And now here I am.
Over break.
Or rather, under break, as I am being buried alive by this list of shit I've decided I need to get done.

When I was in high school, I had a physics teacher who used to say, "There are a billion people in China who don't give a damn what you get on this test." I think that what he meant by that was that we should all just chill the fuck out because, in the grand scheme of things, our grade wasn't that important. Or maybe he meant that the Chinese were a bunch of uncaring bastards.

Either way, there are a billion people in China who don't give a damn what I get done on this to do list.

10 pm update:
Went to the mall without killing anyone.
Crossed 5 things off of my list.
Had some beer.
Completed an extremely difficult Sudoku. (Triple points because I was inebriated.)
Performed my classic Dean Martin singing Silver Bells impersonation. As you might imagine, it was magical.

Make the list. Flush it down the loo. Chill, veg out and relax for the whole damned holiday.
Get hold of a stack of old movies and a shitload of snacks and alcohol, put the phone on mute, snuggle down on yoyr sofa with a duvet and ignore the world.
It works for me.

attach "...with a glass of wine" to each of the To Do items. Presto! simultaneous relaxation and productivity.

I just finished my list over lunch. I got Liv "The Tales of Beedle the Bard"

Now I am fucking finished. How is THAT for some Christmas spirit?

I say we all ditch the lists. Of course, easy for me to say now that mine is done...

My lists are mostly done except for the grocery shopping list - have to go get a truckload of catfood so the little beggars don't starve over the holidays - and a few things for the adults too.

The chinese basically are an uncaring bunch. You would be too if you had to share your space with so many others! Successful breeding I think it's called. LOL

are you planning to voice mail your Dean Martin "silver bells" to one and all as a sort of christmas card?

you totally should.

I agree with dive. I'll be expecting a little Dean Martin ala Terroni on my phone by Christmas.

I love making lists. I can't help it, I just do. And the fact that your list either included or resulted in a Dean Martin impression leads me to believe you make cooler lists than I do.
