Nothing a little golf and duct tape can't fix
My cell phone rang. It was my uncle calling from Florida.
"Hey, kiddo. So, you and Graci got back okay, huh?"
"Yep. We were terribly depressed on the plane, though. It's hard to fly away from palm trees."
He chuckled and said, "Well, you know we'd love to have to back anytime."
"So, what are you up to?" I asked.
"I'm actually headed to the airport. I'm going to catch a ride with Jack to Augusta." And by that he meant... I'm going to catch a ride to The Masters with my tennis buddy, Jack Nicklaus, on his jet.
"What about you?" he asked.
"Well, I was just in a bit of a fender bender. I'm actually in the Walmart parking lot, duck taping my headlight back in."

What?! The Jack of golfing fame?Man your uncle must be living large :).If only I could somehow brag about this to my brother who grew up eating and breathing Jack N. Doesn't really work in my head though since WE don't even know each other. teehee. Sorry about your small wreck. There's nothing small about the annoyance of car repair though. Aaargh.
I miss palm trees too...
it now strikes me that maybe the absurdity of this is funny only to me. maybe you had to be there...in the walmart parking lot.
Now there's a contrast of activities. So your Uncle is a golf player with contacts. Hee, hee - what a wonderful story to tell over dinner.
(This is my first comment using my new Imac with Leopard! and wireless too - I'm chuffed - soon M.B will be hoisting his Mac back upstairs and I'll have my "morning room" back again.)
Forgot to say that I'm sorry about your little accident. I hope you weren't hurt little one.
a new computer for madame...yay!!
taped-on headlights are the new rage.
for the record, our car has not one but BOTH side mirrors glued on with epoxy.
and apparently this week was the week for parking accidents, only I managed to scrape a brand new volvo. dohhhh.
(not my volvo, as you might have guessed)
I hit an aqua 93 Pontiac minivan. Vintage.
In my last accident (two years ago), I nearly took my bumper off the front of my car. The truck I hit barely showed a scratch and of course, the driver went totally ballistic and my insurance company ended up paying him over 5,000$ to get a new back bumper, which he totally did not need.
I'm sorry you had to have a fender bender. Were they at least decent people?
