Apartment in Queens?

Hey, friends. I just received my housing information from Mt. Sinai. Unfortunately, the room they've set aside for me is quite a distance from Elmhurst where I'll be working. I'm digging through Craigslist, but I thought I'd also throw a note up here. Know anyone in Queens who wants to share some space in September?

I possess no special skills, can't even juggle. But, I shower daily; and I wear antiperspirant and a bra.

(Gonna move that sexy description of myself over to eharmony and see if I can't scare up the next Mr. Terroni.)

I've a friend on 113th St. in Manhattan, she may have an extra room (perhaps even a futon?). Not too far a trip over, I think. Let me know and I can put you in contact...

Nope....don't know a soul in Queens. But...I want to hear all about it. I have always wanted to live in either Queens or Brooklyn. Just because of one book I read as a child....

I've also heard it helps if you don't snore. When I lived in Baltimore for awhile, I was put with a fellow student in a boarding room for two in an ancient house. She informed me that I snored and I was so embarrassed that I used to pinch myself to stay awake until she fell asleep first.

Hey, do your internship in the SF Bay Area. We have PLENTY of space. Hell, I'd let you stay here for free. But. You'd have to sleep with the kitty kats. Or, rather, allow them to sleep with you.

:-)

jw, I'll leave a note on your blog.

M, I was sort of hoping to stay in the apartment next to the tree that grows in Brooklyn. Haven't found that on Craigslist yet.

Deb, sadly, it's ridiculously hard to get a spot in the Bay Area. But, if I thought I had a popsicle's chance in hell of getting in, I would so take you up on that.

And you know, I've sort of gotten used to sleeping with a cat. Graci's Scout has spent much of the time since Graci left sleeping on my neck. It's 90 degrees here, so that's a special kind of cozy.

Now I know why you're feeling the heat - it's Scout's fault. Cats are little hot water bottles.
I'd let you sleep with our cats too, T.
Good luck with the housing hunt. I can't believe how difficult it is.
Maybe some of your colleagues might be able to help once you get there. Put a notice on the notice board or something. In the meantime, that futon on 113th St. sounds good.
