Trying times indeed

Further evidence of the housing crisis plaguing this great nation. A year ago, he might have tried to sell; but this year, he had to walk away. He simply owed more than the exoskeleton was worth.

The bank that owns the shell isn't doing much better.

I'm dusting off the Fireside Chats, trying not to panic.

Beautifully photographed, T.
At least it hasn't been re-posessed.

A cicada? Now, please tell me what "Fireside Chats" are so I can understand properly. Why should you panic T, do you have lots of real estate? Stocks and bonds? Engaged to a mortgage broker?

The fireside chats were a series of informal radio speeches given by FDR during the Great Depression. Basically, he told people to support the New Deal and not to panic.

But no, I'm not engaged to a mortgage broker. I do wonder if those guys are having a little trouble finding dates right now.

*laughs* I haven't seen a cicada shell in -years.- They used to be all over the place when I was a child. I wonder if they're becoming an endangered species?

Thanks little T. I studied western history once upon a time so know all about FDR and the New Deal (which worked btw) but I'm so glad I now know about "fireside chats". Hee hee .... getting dates!!

I was just reading an article in the WSJ about how our sucky economy is sliding all over everyone else. The English banks are starting to skitter around too, now...

Only the Japanese and Chinese seem to be doing ok...possibly because they have been saving and toiling while we fiddled while our nation burned...

Fantastic picture - I love the faint spiderweb attaching him to the tree.
