An apology
For those of you who read using an RSS feeder and are bothered by the fact that I edit posts (800 or 900 times) before leaving them be, I am sorry.
Not so sorry that I'm going to stop doing it. Not that kind of sorry. It's more like an oh, yeah, sorry 'bout that kind of sorry.
I read somewhere that in blogging we occasionally show a little writerly plumber's butt. Well, occasionally, I let my whole skinny white blogger's ass hang out. The revisions are an attempt at hiking up my pants.
Staring at posts that do not look or sound the way I want annoys me. Sorry if the edits annoy you. If it's any consolation, the people who know me outside of blogging will tell you it's the least of my annoying qualities. Those people...they occasionally see me chew gum with my mouth open.
See...you are relatively spared.

You'd think we could see our mistakes before we hit the 'publish' button. That's what 'preview' is for, right? I don't know how many times I've had to take a post back, sometimes after I've gone to bed for the night. Sometimes I annoy myself!
you just made blanch with the realization that some people can see how many times one edits their posts.
I had no idea. Oh my. Luckily for me, I doubt anyone has a feed on mine!
now if only one could edit their comments...hmm....
there should be a "me" in there somewhere in the first sentence. I'll let you decide where to put it.
Terroni dear, there's just one little edit required on this one - I don't think I'd like to see you chew guN, mouth open or closed. Sorry 'bout that!
You are funny little one. I don't know what this post was about by the way. Your posts are almost always absolutely perfect.
I do that, too, and someitmes get a comment while I'm in the editing process. Oh, well. It's my blog and I'll edit if I want to, edit if I want to...
Oh. whoops. I didn't realize that either. Now I feel like a dope. I just only recently realized that people can tell if you look at their site more than once a day. That one made me feel like a stalker when really it's just more because I like to read the other comments and find people like you to investigate. I LOVE any bits of medical news so it's fun to ride along on your short white coattails. I don't mean to call you short, just your jacket. ;) So keep up the good editing! I don't have a RSS so I'll never know.
Thanks for the editing help, friends. Graci thought maybe I did that to be funny, but no...I'm just in dire need of an editor. ;>
Shan,
I, too, often visit people's blogs a couple times a day. Usually, it's because I get interrupted while trying to read--takes me a few visits to actually finish a post and then comment.
What? No photo of your skinny white blogger's ass?
I change my posts all the time. I don't use RSS feeds and if anyone uses them to view my messes then it's their own stupid fault.
huh, i had no idea either. i feel like you do though, "oops, sorry 'bout that"
nina
I edit constantly. I often take out whole paragraphs that suddenly look just plain pansy ass to me when posted.
And each time I look, I always find at least two errors to fix.
I totally edit over and over and over as well! ;)
I only see the entry once in my RSS reader - I think the version that I pull up has to do with when I view it in my reader. at least, that's how it seems with my blog. I use google reader, if that detail is of any use to you...
