Today's study break

Bruce and Melissa sing Thunder Road

I have crushes on both of them.
When I was 12, I decided I was going to marry Bruce Springsteen. When my dad told me that he was already married, I said, "That's okay, I'll just wait for his wife to die." Charming, huh?

In hindsight, I should have stuck to that plan.

I kinda think he's gonna stick with Patti...

But seriously, if you think the best parts of Bruce's shows are the stories he tells, I'd be happy to email you an mp3 of a great story he told at the Agora in Cleveland, on August 19th, 1978, and broadcast live over WMMS. It's a digitally cleaned up file from a cassette recording that sat around for years. Vintage stuff, and priceless for fans. Seems like you're a fan :)

My 13 year old has it all planned out. After high school she and her boyfriend will go to community college, then U of MD and get an apartment. I thought, "Oh, I hope this ends really soon." I said, "uh huh."

ab - I don't give out my email address, but I appreciate the offer!

Cheryl - Ahh...the best laid plans of mice and teenyboppers.

Terroni...I am SO glad to hear that you don't give out your e-mail address, either.

I could tell you a horror story about the time that I did...so don't give it up!

And Bruce...ah...I like him almost as much as Jeff Goldblum but in a different way, of course. Jeff is all brainy man. Bruce is all slippery and slidey. And no one sings it like he does. I'd never heard that song done by Melissa and Bruce, so thank you.

His car's out back if you're ready to take that long walk from your front porch to his front seat. The door's open but the ride aint free. Plus you have to listen to him sing like he's constipated and has no stool softener.

I do dig him though. I mean, in a platonic way, of course.
