Prince Charming

I think you better cut all that hair off
throw it out the window
climb down from that tower
flip the wicked witch the finger
ain't no use to wait for him to get you
he's out chasing his own demons
not like you can really blame him
you've got demons of your own

and I hate to be the one to tell you
cause it don't seem so romantic
but that's the way it really goes
and now you know

you're gonna have to be your own prince charming
gonna have to ride your own stallion
gonna have to find your own castle
gonna have to raise your own sail
and there's gonna be a happy ending
but that's only the beginning...

If all goes as planned (and that would be a first), divorce at 9 am.

Oh..and the song...courtesy of Jim's Big Ego and my favorite Christine.
Because every girl needs an anthem.

I just had to be the first to say "Congratulations". On the day of my first divorce, I went out and bought a pretty brooch with a single diamond in it. Just so I would never forget!
The world is your oyster now Terroni.

My divorce was final in April. I got a letter notifying me. It was a relief albeit anti climatic.

I wish you all the best! Thanks for stopping by my blog btw. Hope to see you again.

Those are great lyrics. But can I really only ride just one stallion? :>

It's funny because I dwell in a realm of natural disasters and I was thinking today. When your asked the question, "Who will save you?" the always should alwayas be foremost, "Myself." Others might aid you, but 3/4 of survival is believing in yourself.

raise that fist high as you flip the wicked witch the finger.

there's gonna be a happy ending. but that's only the beginning...

Good for you, Terroni. It's hard, but it sounds like you are going to be much happier without him.

UPDATE: Well, at the last minute, the Fucker decided he wasn't going to agree to anything. We are arguing over the house--not the actual structure, or even the equity--I told him he can keep all of that. And, he wants all of that...but, he doesn't want to refinance it so that it is in just his name. Why not? Good question. The answer has something to do with his pathological need to control everything and the sick satisfaction he gets out of still "sharing" something with me.

So...now we have to go to TRIAL (September) so that the judge can order the house sold. It can't stay in both of our names. I can't get any credit with a mortgage and school loan debt and my meager student stipend for an income.

In the meantime, I'm cutting my hair and paying to have my last name legally changed. I could wait and do the name change for free when the divorce is final, but I'm not.

I can't believe I had to sit around that damn courthouse for hours AGAIN only to leave still married.

Oh, and thank you all so much for your support...a girl couldn't buy better blog friends.

Mme Benaut said...

This latest stunt just reinforces your decision doesn't it? He is cruel to say the least but September isn't that far away. And, while you're at it - I'd ask for your share of the equity if you are entitled to it when the court order comes through. Fight back sweetheart.

Terroni said...

Yeah, Madame, this reinforces my decision. But not as much as he did when he phoned my 76 year old grandfather on Thanksgiving to tell him, "T has walked away from the Lord and become a lesbian."

Props to Grandpa who said, "No, T has walked away from you and become a woman with self-respect."

Or the time he told my dad that I just needed to come home and learn how to be a submissive wife. (That might be my all time favorite psycho suggestion.)

I could go on. But, needless to say...this is a heavily reinforced decision. If this decision was a levy, New Orleans would still be in one piece.

Vic said...

Terroni, what a prick! Glad that you are in the process of trying to get rid of him.

If this decision was a levy...

Great analogy, mate!

Best wishes for getting through this,
Vic

Now all of this is getting very interesting to me. I knew you were a lesbian but I didn't know you walked away from the lord. lol

I'm saving this blog.

If I imagine him getting hit by a bus and he does, is that murder?

I knew Maria was a bad influence on you! ;>

New Rules: From now on, only Australians are allowed to call me "mate"...because when Vic does it, I don't feel the need to call a lawyer.

Carrie and Prox~ You girls are making me laugh--thanks!

forget flipping the wicked witch the finger, i know which way i'm flippin mine.

jeeesh.

ya know. i've been married 16 years, with the same guy for over 20. in that entire time, never ONCE has he done something so epic and shitty as the few things i've read here that were done by mr. ex to you.

some men. pfth.

good on grampa too for his retort. hells yeah grampa. hells yeah.

What a controlling weasel.

I was gritting my teeth for this whole blog post.

So...a trial. I say you get your lawyer to insinuate that you might be open to suing him for mental cruelty and you know a shrink in Nebraska who would love to get him under a microscope and see why he has such issues with control and intimidating women....

Scum ass. Mr. Monkey shit pants. God damn premature ejaculation king.

Of course, I have never met him. But, I would love to see him wriggling around under deep psychological questioning....

Maria said...

Well..damn. That was hardly productive. Sorry. Temper, temper.

I say, just forget that he is on the planet for awhile...go out with L and get a cold drink and wear something saucy and bold.

Just because.

And if you are ever so inclined, I think some good blog material would be to talk about how you met and what happened. Someday, when you are more removed, of course.

I imagine you have lots of good stories....

Terroni said...

M~ "Premature ejaculation king"...so I take it you two have met?

And anytime you want to call the bane of my existence "Mr. Monkey shit pants" I'll steal a line from Christine and say, "Hells yeah!"

Finally, yep, there are lots of good stories. Someday, I'll share.

Sorry the divorce didn't happen as planned. Too good to be true, huh? He sounds like a prick that you will one day be rid of.

Sorry it took me so long to write:(

I like the anthem, and from your update I see you wil be needing it for trial. May it stand you in good stead. (Mine will be final in two weeks and counting.)
